Sonsino Turcan Construction

Campden Hill Court

The project involved the 'back to brick' renovation of a large apartment in Kensington, west London. Sonsino Turcan worked closely with Nebihe Cihan Studio to deliver a successful project.

Conjuring the mood of a laid-back retreat in the heart of the city, the home is defined by the balance of traditional expressions with a fresh outlook for a modernised farmhouse aesthetic. The apartment was reconfigured from five-bedrooms to a two-bedroom dwelling, including the addition of an office, dressing room and media room, transformed this previously neglected Victorian property into a multifunctional residence equipped for urban living.

With a focus on the internal architecture of the space as well as its interior design, this full renovation also included the infusion of rich, timeless characteristics that reflect the heritage of the building, such as grand arched doorways, an Avorio marble fireplace and custom-made ribbed panelling. A warm, muted backdrop sets the stage for globally sourced vintage pieces, and high-quality furniture and fittings by the likes of deVoL and George Smith. Bespoke joinery was designed by Nebihe Cihan Studio and is complemented by sanded and brushed Veselye flooring, terracotta tiling by Italian brand Cotto Etrusco, and plush textiles by Rose Uniacke and Pierre Frey.
