Pont Street

This project involved the amalgamation of two separate flats on the top floors of an Edwardian mansion block in central Chelsea into one duplex apartment arranged around a central lightwell. During the construction the client purchased the loft space above the living room which allowed the ceiling to be raised to create a double height living room that reinstates two small high level windows and creates a dramatic space that was perfect for a feature pendant light.

A new bespoke, folded metal stair connects the two levels and oak hallway panelling evokes the feeling of a stately home. The project involved production of a lot of bespoke joinery including a custom made fitted day bed within the first floor study space, accessed from the hallway by a pocket sliding door, and hidden storage beneath the new stair.

Finishes throughout the flat are of the highest quality and the palette of materials is intentionally kept simple and elegant.
